Steinhatchee is a small but picturesque town in Florida’s Taylor County. It is set on the Steinhatchee River, surrounded by some of Florida’s most beautiful creeks and rivers, where opportunities for wildlife viewing, fishing and boating abound.
Steinhatchee has plenty of parks and green spaces to explore on a first date. Kay Larkin Park is a great place to take a walk; it features walking trails, a playground, and a small fishing pier. They serve a variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies as well as light snacks. The Beach Café is another lovely spot, and it has an outdoor patio perfect for people watching. The Café also serves lunch and dinner, so if the two of you hit it off the date can easily transition to dinner.

Live music is plentiful in Steinhatchee. The Anchor Inn is a popular spot for local bands, and they host events throughout the year. The Sunsets on the Sunset Pavilion is a great place to listen to live acoustic music, and there’s often a singer or two during the weekend. For something a bit more lively, the Steinhatchee River Jam is a great spot, with live music and DJs throughout the year.
Steinhatchee is home to several great bars, pubs, and restaurants for a first date drink or food. The White Dog Pub serves up a wide variety of craft beers, as well as appetizers and sandwiches. The Wildwood Saloon is a favorite among locals, serving up American cuisine and drinks in a rustic, relaxed atmosphere. The Salty Breeze Seafood Restaurant is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers, with an extensive menu and fresh-caught seafood.
