Unfortunately, Standon is too small to have its own galleries, museums or exhibitions. However, there are plenty of these to visit in nearby towns, such as the centre for Hertfordshire History and the Hertfordshire Museums and Galleries. A visit to one of these would be a great opportunity to explore and learn together, as well as sparking interesting conversations.
While there are no regular music or entertainment venues in Standon, the Lords of the Manor Festival, held in the summer, is an excellent opportunity to get your date out and enjoying some live music and entertainment. The village also sometimes has open air theatre performances and there are plenty of venues in nearby towns, such as Hertford and Ware, that have regular music and comedy gigs.
Standon is dotted with some great pubs, bars and restaurants that would be ideal for a food or drink date. The Dog and Partridge Inn is a traditional pub with a great selection of drinks and classic pub grub. The White Horse is also popular, with its rustic eatery, outdoor terrace and beer garden, perfect for warm summer evenings.
